All you need to know about visit limits!

Q: My insurance allows X number of chiropractic visits for the calendar year (for simplicity’s sake, let's say X = 26)…that means I can come every two weeks and be covered, right?!

A: The short answer is not necessarily.

Your insurance policy may allow 26 visits, but most insurance companies require your visit be based on medical necessity not wellness or maintenance.

Medical necessity means that you have an acute (severe, sudden, etc.) complaint. Wellness or maintenance visits means that you are basically coming in because you feel good and want to remain feeling good.

Just to be clear, any reason for you to come in is perfectly okay! The biggest difference is that some insurance plans will not cover wellness/maintenance visits.

If Dr. Jessi needs to transition you from active care into wellness care, she will discuss the changes with you and let you know that she will not be billing insurance.
